The figures paint a gloomy picture. And this is way Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is extremely angry with the leaders of his All Progressives Congress in Lagos state.

The result of votes recorded by the APC in the last Saturday’s presidential election compared to that of main opposition party People’s Democratic Party does not paint a beautiful picture for Babajide Sanwoolu ahead of March 9 gubernatorial election.

APC recorded 580,825 votes for Muhammadu Buhari while PDP scored 448,015 for Atiku Abubakar in an election where star boys Babajide Sanwoolu (gubernatorial candidate), Babatunde Fashola (serving minister and ex two-term- governor), Yemi Osinbajo (Vice President) and others lost in their strongholds.

The vote recorded by the APC is in the face of allegations by the PDP of cancellation of votes in areas where the party is popular.

Societynow.ng gathered that angered by the fact that the 580.825 votes recorded are far cry from the three million votes he boasted the party would poll – and too near that of PDP for comfort ahead of the March 9 election – Tinubu held a stakeholder meeting with APC leaders in Lagos state yesterday – Thursday, February 28.

Societynow.ng gathered that the tension soaked meeting held at the GRA Ikeja, Lagos campaign office of gubernatorial candidate Sanwo-Olu.

According to information monitored on the online platform with deep insight into the affairs of APC in Lagos state, orijoreporter.com, a visibly angry Tinubu shut down attempts to hail him over the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari with the outburst

“Please, don’t praise me, I don’t need your praises, after the poor performance you all put up at the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

“It showed that most of the chieftains and council chairmen did not mobilize the grassroots after all the support from the party.

“I will not condone this act any further. Party leaders and council chairmen who fail to perform to expectation at the next governorship and House of Assembly polls on March 9, should be ready to resign or face the music.

“We have over three million registered APC members and yet the performance last Saturday was poor.

“The chairman of the state party, (Babatunde Balogun) should know that his position is not a permanent one. If he fails, he will have to go too.”

The additional information sourced orijoreporter.com revealed those at the meeting include, Musiliu Obanikoro, party chairman Tunde Balogun, gubernatorial candidate Sanwoolu, members of the Governor’s Advisory Council ( GAC) including Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Dr. Yomi Finnih, and Sanwoolu’s running-mate, Dr. Femi Hamzat.

This development comes in the face of special interest by the national leadership of the PDP to win Lagos state for party’s gubernatorial candidate Jimi Agbaje in fulfillment of the vow by Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar during his campaign.
