Tinubu Orders Oyo Governor, Ajimobi To Reshuffle Cabinet Over Unrest In State ACN

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National leader of political party, Action Congress of Nigeria has ordered governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi to reshuffle his cabinet.

The Oyo state front man is one of the Governors that came to power on the saddle of ACN.

Sources confirmed political leader, Tinubu issued the directive as part of moves to squash growing unrest in the Oyo state chapter of his party.

Governor Ajimobi, who crossed over from ANPP to ACN is accused of side lining those he met in the party- particularly members perceived as not striving to curry his favour.

He is alleged to appoint associates and loyalist from his ANPP days to office- and award contracts to only acolytes.

Part of the allegation is that with the death of state leader, Lam Adeshina- the governor has virtually done away with his associates and recomended party loyalists in Oyo state government.

‘Only Dapo, the late lam’s son remains in Gov Ajimobi’s cabinet’ a source claimed.

According to an insider ‘these allegations of divisive moves against the governor resulted in internal unrest threatening the unity and stronghold of the party in Oyo politics’

Insiders further revealed that in an attempt to curtail the erupting scenerio, stakeholders reported the development to party leader- Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

And a meeting with those concerned namely Gov Ajimobi, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Chief Michael Koleosho was held with the ACN national leader.

They met in Ondo state in first weekend in February.

Sources confirmed at the meeting, the trio of Lanlehin, Adeseun and Koleosho reiterated the allegations against Ajimobi – and jointly told the Governor, they laid the complaint against him.

And as part of the way forward, to quell the growing unrest within the party, a conclusion that ‘an all encompassing’ government should be formed was reached.

‘That Ajimobi should reshuffle his cabinet to achieve this’ a source confided.

The governor was said to have agreed to the terms reached, that he would effect the agreement in days to come.

He was reportedly released ‘unconditionally’ after pressures were brought to bear home and abroad.
