The Truth!..Real Reason Diezani Madueke Is Yet To Face Prosecution Home & Abroad

Despite all the noise about gargantuan corruption perpetrated by former petrol minister Diezani Allison Madueke when she was in office, she remains a free person – though restricted in movement to the United Kingdom.

sources disclosed that the real reason Diezani, who is believed to be resident in London, remains free is that authorities home and abroad have failed to build an iron cast case against the former petrol minister, especial the metropolitan police (MET)handling her investigation abroad.

”The MET does not want to go to court with a case that has loopholes Diezani’s high priced lawyers can export. The MET does not want to waste taxpayers’ money prosecuting a case doubts over securing a conviction, so Diezani remains free while the investigation continues” societynow.ng learned.

Added revelation has it that this development puts the investigating agency in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a fix.

”The EFCC actually requested the MET to handle the investigation and supplied pieces of evidence based on the belief that Diezani would be diligently prosecuted and convicted as it happened in the case of former governor James Ibori.

”But it appears history may not repeat itself, or it is certainly not in a hurry to repeat itself” societynow.ng learned.

The information available has it that the MET wanted to handover Diezani back to Nigeria when she was arrested as part of an International Police investigation initiated by the EFCC against her, but the anti-corruption agency opted to let the MET lead the investigation and handle prosecution in London.

”But with the delay in the prosecuting of Diezani based on the highly trumpeted offenses against her in Nigeria, the EFCC is already rueing the decision to let the MET prosecute her” a source stated.

societynow.ng gathered that the EFCC is attempting to break the agreement with the MET and get Diezani to face prosecution in Nigeria.

”But Diezani lawyers are kicking against the move with the claims that she faces persecution to score cheap political points by the ruling All Progressives Congress and not prosecution” societynow.ng learned.

Diezani Allison Madueke served in the cabinet of the government of rival political party, People’s Democratic Party as a minister.
