The fear of insecurity over as the lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the shutdown States is not limited to the masses societynow.ng learned.

The rich are also afraid.

And a clear longer to this is the emerging scenario at Banana Island, the billionaires’ haven located in Lagos State.

” An increasing number of able body beggars are appearing at the gate pleading for alms” a resident source disclosed.

Societynow.ng gathered that the development has started giving residents at the exclusive abode of the wealthy cause for concerns against the background of recent happenings as it relates to security.

” I pray the situation is taken care of before things turn ugly” a resident source on the essential list expressed deep concern.

The areas populated by the ‘masses’ and “a bit well to do” persons have experienced a series of robbery and burglary incidents in recent times – with the public outcry forcing the Inspector General of Police to deploy special squads to secure the affected places. 

Ironically, Banana Island, an exclusive reserve of the very wealthy is located not too far from the slum and its ‘unattractiveness.’
