Deputy Governor of Lagos state Obafemi Hamzat is making a stealth move.

Societynow.ng gathered that Hamzat is quietly consolidating his grip on the political landscape in Lagos state.

The checks made by societynow.ng revealed that the deputy governor is quietly putting together a band of political supporters across party lines.

Insiders disclosed that Hamzat is achieving this aim with silent supports to his targets through proxies.

‘’From what I know it is a silent but very conscious effort at building a formidable political movement loyal to his cause across the state. Yes, it is normal for a politician but Hamzat wasn’t operating like this before based on what I know’’ a source disclosed.

Societynow.ng’s investigation is yet to unravel the immediate cause of the move by deputy governor Hamzat in the face of governor Sanwo-Olu’s grapple with the challenges of governing Lagos.

The word on the street is that Hamzat, who stepped down for Sanwo-Olu in the gubernatorial race, is planning well ahead of time for what ‘’happens next’’ with his underground moves.

Societynow.ng gathered that Hamzat is particularly focused on putting together increased numbers of supporters in areas where the minister for interior – and former governor of Osun state – Rauf Aregbesola holds sway as a political leader in Lagos State.
