Showmax has released its first-ever Kenyan original movie. The trailer is proof that our experiences in Africa, no matter what country, are eerily similar. In a time where love is in the air and the festive season is making us more amenable to family, Lawrence Murage’s ‘Baba Twins’ is just what the doctor ordered.

The film, which follows Wamz (Violetta Ngina) and Tony (Morris Mwangi), talks about parenting and the confusion first-time parents often face. It drills into how the uncertainty is even worse for young parents who were never really on the prowl for kids.

Wamz, a young, carefree airline hostess, is thrust into motherhood and has to raise multiples while navigating nanny drama; and Tony, her socialite baby daddy, is not ready to be a dad. Will they get their act together? Something must give.

Other cast members include Kui Kabala as Doris, Annstella Karimi as Eva, and Brian Ngaira as PC, with celebrity cameo appearances from radio personalities King Kalala, Kalekye Mumo, Maqbul Mohammed, and Ian Mbugua). Baba Twins is directed by Lawrence Murage and produced by Lucy Mwangi through Moon Beam Productions. The movie is available to watch online on Showmax.
