Senatorial Candidate Lands In Trouble Over Alleged Attempted Murder

Police in Osun state are investigating a former commissioner for Justice and Attorney -General in Osun state Ajibola Bashiru, Societynow.ng reliably gathered.

Interestingly Ajibola Bashiru is contesting Osun Central senatorial seat on the platform of ruling All Progressives Party.

The said investigation is said to be as a result of attempted murder allegation against the politician.

He’s accused in a petition written to the police that he has hand in the attack that almost took the life of a PDP chieftain Alhaji Fatai Diekola.

Alhaji Diekola was formerly a member of the ruling APC before joining Peoples Democratic Party a couple months back.

According to the report, he was attacked at Alekuwodo area of Osogbo, the state capital. Other equally touched during the untoward incident were Alhaji Segun Adekilekun and Alhaji Sikiru Lawal.

The ugly incident transpired in September 2018.

Mr. Basiru’s Personal Assistant was revealed to have supervised the attack on the order of his principal.

Diekola and Basiru Ajibola are both indigines of Osogbo.

The Assistant Inspector General in charge of the Zone, Ibrahim Muhammed is said to have ordered Mr. Bashiru be quizzed for possible prosecution.

The petition against the former commissioner emanates from the law firm of Bukola Onifade & Co on the instruction of PDP’s Diekola.
