It is a sad day in Lagos State today – Monday, May 4, 2020.
All the safety rules in the raging fight against the spread of Covid-19 were abandoned as residents of Lagos State engage in their normal hustle on the first-day movement restrictions were relaxed.
From Bus Stops to Banks to markets and all other places of engagements the residents of Lagos hustle like before the advent of Covid-19 – even worse.

Images across the social media space showed the residents of Lagos kept off the streets to contain the spread of the pandemic for over four weeks act in manners that made nonsense of the sacrifices they have made – and huge money spent so far.
Physical distancing was defied as Bus Stops and Business places filled to the brim with Hand Sanitizers and face masks having no place in the scheme of things.

Commercial buses were filled to the brim in most cases, banned Commercial Motorcycles popularly known as Okada operated with wanton abandon, as early 6.am the traffic on third mainland bridge was harrowing.
The situation was so bad that a customer slumped at a Bank and “crowd” forced open the gate of another in defiance of physical distancing rule.
“It was a mess, people push and shove in a desperate bid to get to wherever they were going and they certainly didn’t care about maintaining contact or not…and those who tried to keep away did not have the luxury they were caught in the mix ” a source stated.
“If this continues things will go from bad to worse instead of getting better” a source pointed out the danger lurking in the horizon in Lagos state if the Residents continue the careless approach to Covid-19 keep safe rules.
