Sacrilege!… Oluwo Of Iwo Adewale Akanbi Shoves Tradition Aside, Visits Ajimobi’s Widow Barely 24hrs After Ex- Gov’s Burial

The Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi is back in the news.

Against widespread practice, the Iwo King shoved tradition aside to condole with Florence, the widow of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Oba Akanbi visited Ajimobi’s widow barely 24hours after her husband was buried.

Custodians of culture insisted this is against the widespread practice.

‘’Obas (Kings) in Yoruba land do not go to burial or where there is mourning..the normal thing to do is to send the staff of office to such places’’ societynow.ng learned.

‘’This is irrespective of how close or impactful those affected are to the Oba (King)’’ a source stated.

The Oluwo of Iwo did not only leave his base in Osun State to visit the widow of Ajimobi in Ibadan, Oyo State, but he also posted the pictures of the visit all over his social media account – along with images of when he signed the condolence register.

Former Governor Abiola Ajimobi was buried on Sunday, June 28, 2020 and Oluwo posted pictures of his condolence visit on Monday, June 29, 2020.

This development adds to the growing numbers of controversies, including the infamous marital misadventure and alleged assault on another king, the Agbowu, dogging the Oluwo since he took the esteem throne of Iwo.
