Away from the use of power and influence, there was a strong spiritual connection to the emergence of Dapo Abiodun as the next Governor of Ogun state.
Societynow.ng’s sources disclosed that Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God provided the spiritual backing for Abiodun to overcome all odds to become the Governor-Elect.
The Oil baron faced intense opposition – and political persecution – from outgoing governor Amosun.
Amosun a member of the same political party as Abiodun openly and strongly backed Adekunle Akinlade, the candidate of the rival Allied People’s Movement in the recently held gubernatorial election.
Amosun went after Abiodun with all his might as a state governor but the Oil baron who maintained unnerving calmness in the face of great provocation emerged the winner.
And the reason behind Abiodun’s refusal to openly engage Amosun is now unveiled.
Societynow.ng gathered that it is that result of spiritual guidance from Pastor Adeboye.
Abiodun is a devout member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God insiders confirm.
“Pastor Adeboye told Abiodun not to engage Amosun in a bitter and open fight and assured him that he would win” a source stated.
Insiders disclosed that Pastor Adeboye told the church leaders to engage on special prayers for the success of Abiodun at the polls.
Abiodun was directed to partake in the spiritual exercise too societynow.ng learned.
Away from spiritual matters, Abiodun’s biggest support in clinching victory in the Ogun state gubernatorial election came from Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The Vice President deployed the influence of his position to neutralize attempt by Governor Amosun to use state power to secure victory for his preferred successor.
Osinbajo is a pastor – and elder – in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
