Resign And Join APC Latest By Tomorrow – Wole Oke To Osun Lawmakers
adding, “If you like, you can abuse me from morning till nightfall.”
Federal lawmaker and recently defected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wole Oke, has advised members of the Osun State House of Assembly, particularly those from the Osun East Senatorial District, to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the APC without delay.
Oke, who represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, described his message as a “very honest advice,” saying it was driven by a sense of responsibility to his colleagues.
The message, shared via social media, came with a strong undertone of urgency ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election and the 2027 general election.
“Any smart and politically savvy Member of Osun State House of Assembly from Osun East Senatorial District should tender his resignation letter as a Member of PDP and join APC latest by tomorrow,” he said. “Some Members from Osun Central may also wish to.”
Oke, who has emerged as one of the most vocal campaigners for the APC in Osun, insisted that the party is in pole position to secure victory across the state and beyond.
He urged lawmakers not to ignore what he described as shifting political tides.
“This is just a very honest advice. I have to discharge the duty of care I owe all of you,” he stated, adding, “If you like, you can abuse me from morning till nightfall.”
He assured defecting lawmakers that their welfare would not be affected by such a move. “Nobody can stop your salary, neither allowances nor Constituency project money,” he said.
However, Oke cautioned appointees currently serving in the PDP-led administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke to remain in office until August 7, 2026, saying the governor, in his view, would not victimise them for their choices.
“Our brothers who are serving as Commissioners, Board Chairmen, Board Members, SAs and SSAs should remain in office until August 7, 2026. Governor Ademola Adeleke is a democrat and not petty. He would not mind.”
Oke’s defection from the PDP to the APC is one of the factors that have significantly altered the political equation in Osun, with his growing influence within the APC seen as a potential boost to the party’s electoral chances.
His latest message is viewed in some quarters as an attempt to trigger further realignments ahead of the pivotal 2026 contest.
