The former chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Force Team jumped bail in a N2billion corruption case and caused his surety Senator Ali Ndume to be thrown into jail over the inability to produce him.
Maina was re-arrested in Niger State earlier in the week and extradited yesterday Thursday, December 3, 2020.

Ruling on the request by the prosecutor that Maina should be remanded in prison, Justice Abang stated “The defendant is already on bench warrant having jumped bail.

In response to the request by Maina’s new lawyer Adaji Abel that the court should give time to enable him to get familiar with the case, Justice Abang adjourned the case till Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
