On Sunday September 22 2013- Alhaja Kuburat, the first wife of wealthy Nigerian Alhaji Rasaq Akanni Okoya celebrated her 70th birthday.

And the affair attracted a surprising turn out.

Spearheading the guests that came to felicitate with the ‘birthday gal’ and her connected hubby were, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho and wives, Dr Tunde Soleye, Mrs Sena Anthony, Deputy Gov Segun Adesegun, Alhaja Bintu Tinubu, Rufai Ladipo and wife, Funmi, Lanre Tejuosho, Demola Seriki and Wosilat, First Lady Funsho Amosun, Joko Oni and others.

However social watchers observed a curious spectacle played out at the occasion.

Her hubby of 47yrs, Alhaji Rasaq Okoya was not in attendance.

This is said to be despite the fact that the celebration held within the walls of the family’s palatial abode- Oluwanisola Estate, Lekki Lagos. And confirmations that the money man was spotted at wedding ceremony 24hrs before his wife’s birthday bash.

According to a source ‘Chief Okoya was at the Abah Folawiyo’s daughter’s wedding on Saturday (September 21)in Ikoyi, Lagos with Shade Okoya and Alhaja Kuburat- though the latter arrived d wedding alone.’

Witnesses confirmed Shade, the youngest and most visible of Alhaji Okoya’s wives was a late entrant at the most senior wife’s 70th birthday.

No mention was made of why the man of means was absent at landmark birthday of the woman severally labelled one of his major pillars.
