Police Take Over Chrome Night Club, As Ladi Akindele Stormed Fun Place With Touts, Issued N15m Dud Cheque To Partner, Charles Ahize
The decision of Mr Charles Ahize to kick out his partner, Ladi Akindele over a N15m debt and shut down Chrome Night Club for a week long renovation has sparked off an unexpected chain reaction.
The leader of pan Igbo group, Obigbo took the decision on Friday November 18 2011 and on Monday the sacked partner reportedly stormed the victoria Island venue of the fun place with ‘area boys’
He wanted to forcibly take possession of the place.
Insiders revealed that Ahize was notified of this development and he lodged a formal complaint at Lions Building Police Station Lagos Island.
The police promptly invited the estranged partners.
The leader of Obigbo reportedly explained while he took the action- that Akindele didn’t stick to arrangement between them. The auto dealer claimed his estranged partner’s effort to douse the tension between them only compounded the situation- he issued a dude cheque of N15m.
Sources divulged that both claimed ownership of the business at the police station.
While Ahize claimed that he own the business one hundred percent and that the agreement was that Akindele runs it and pay him a fixed amount per month- the latter asserted that he owns the brand name Chrome and made other inputs that make him a major stakeholder in the enterprise.
He hinged his position on the fact that the former name, Trybeca was changed to Chrome when he came on board.
The claims and counter claims- on the heels of ceaseless visits- are still on at the police station.
However in other to maintain the peace- insiders explained the police have taken over the Night Club.
This is pending investigations into the maze of claims to broker a compromise or establish the true owner of the night club.
The Adetokunbo Ademola situated home of leisure is currently under lock and key.
