Police Investigates Top Property Developer, Femi Osibona Over Alleged N40m Scam, Threat To Life
Mr Femi Osibona, the friend of many is currently undergoing investigation by men of the Nigerian Police.
Sources attribute the new twist in the life of the boss of Four Score Properties Limited to petition of alleged threat to life and fraud against him in a business arrangement turned sour.
Documents made available to societynowng.com revealed, Osibona had contracted Ms Bukola Odusanwo, the front person of Proconsult LLC Global Ltd to provide Facilities Management Services for Shalom Properties situated off Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Odusanwo and her Pro-consult LLC Global Ltd reportedly commenced management of the building made up of 36 (thirty six) flats and four penthouses in August 2012.
The petition dated July 31 2013, addressed to the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 2 and stamped received however proclaimed that, ‘despite the diligent provision of its services, some occupiers and the owners of the flats and penthouses have failed, refused and neglected to pay for the services.’
This reportedly resulted in the firm and it’s promoter incurring a N40m debt from expenditures on ‘purchase of diesel, maintenance of generators, maintenance of lift, cleaning of the premises, provision of security services and payment of staff salary, which is still outstanding for five months’.
The information further revealed that. several overtures to Mr Odubona, who utilises some flats and a penthouse on the property to secure payments were rebuffed.
The outcome of the series of pay up moves was alleged to be threats of ejection of the facility manager and her company from the building without payment. Osibona reportedly made the threats in collaboration with some tenants, including a Mr muhammed Garuba.
According to the petition, the threats snowballed into this happenstance.
‘On 30th July, 2013 at about 9pm, the premises was invaded by MOPOL from Squadron 22, who ejected the staff of the company. Our client though not within the premises at the time of the invasion but she was promptly notified and she came in and confronted the MOPOL by questioning their proprietary right to invade the premises and as result of this the MOPOL left the premises’
This development reportedly spiralled into another one.
‘Again mobilized a detachment of MOPOL from Squadron 22, who again invaded the premises at about 2am on 31st July, 2013 looking for our client and threatening to terminate her life, buy luckily for our client, she left the premises about 12 midnight, when she was convinced that sanity had returned to the premises after dousing the earlier invasion of the MOPOL’
The petition written by written by Muyiwa Olusa & Co on behalf of Ms Bukola Odusanwo further alleged that at at about 2pm on 30th July, 2013 Odubona made a phone call to Odunsanwo threatening to ‘deal mercilessly’ with her.
It is alleged that fearing for her life, the facility manager had gone into hiding, abandoning business and family.
She reportedly resorted to bringing the matter to the attention of the police via her lawyers to protect her life and business from collapse.
The police are said to be assiduous looking into the matter.
