Olumide Akpata, the former President of Nigeria has shared his experience on the first Air Peace Flight from Lagos to London.

Akpata who is the candidate of the Labour Party for this year’s gubernatorial election in Edo state details happening on the flight – complemented with some of the featured pictures – in a narrative that reads…

Earlier today, I was one of the many excited passengers on board the inaugural Air Peace flight from Lagos, which touched down at Gatwick Airport in London this morning.

Also on board were my brother and classmate and Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, SAN; another brother and classmate, the renowned photographer and painter, Kelechi Amadi-Obi; Senator Ifeanyi Ubah; Chief Timi Alaibe; Learned Silk, Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN; and many, many others.

As the aircraft soared through the skies, the excitement and patriotism among my fellow passengers was palpable. The Nigerian flag emblazoned on the aircraft’s tail only served to increase the sense of joy and fulfilment we all already felt.

This remarkable feat, coming after nearly a decade of very intense and sometimes daunting negotiations, stands as an inspiring testament to the resilience and determination that define the Nigerian spirit.

Heartwarming stories like these help to further strengthen my resolve to work tirelessly for the betterment of our great nation and its people.

I wholeheartedly commend and congratulate Air Peace’s founder, my brother, Chief Allen Onyema, and his team for their visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to propelling Nigerian aviation onto the global stage. This inaugural flight, a decade in the making, symbolises the heights we can reach as a nation when we dare to dream big and back it up with unwavering action.

Nigerians and Nigerian businesses like Air Peace, under the stewardship of visionaries like Allen Onyema, must be encouraged and supported.

Their success stories serve as beacons of hope, reminding us of our nation’s vast potential. I encourage Air Peace to continue making Nigerians proud, setting new standards of excellence in the aviation industry and beyond.

Let this momentous occasion be a source of inspiration for us all, igniting our belief in our country’s boundless possibilities. Together, we can contribute our utmost towards its progress and soar to even greater heights.
