Petroleum Minister, Allison Madueke’s N2B Newspaper Finally Kicks Off
…calls it ‘the union’, pegs minimum editorial pay at N250k per month
The much talked about newspaper linked to petroleum minister, Diezani Allison Madueke has kicked off.
Sources confirmed the pilot edition hit the stand last week.
Informants disclosed contrary to the much touted name Nigeria Today, the publication operates under the title- The Union.
It operates from earlier reported office sited in G.R.A, Ikeja Lagos.
The investment said to have gulped about N2b( office space, equipments, recruitments et al) is disclosed as having seasoned hand and former Managing Director of Champion Newspaper, Emma Agu as front person.
An insider revealed contrary to expectations of a daily affair, the management intend to operate as a weekly to test run the market- and efficiency of the structure in place.
Investigations revealed an improved salary of N250.000 for Reporters, N500,00k-N1m for Editors are being dangled at prospective Editorial staffers to lure them in. The strategy is said to be working well.
