‘People Who Call Me Gov Amaechi’s Boy Talk Out Of Ignorance, He Is Only My Mentor’ -Rivers APC Guber Candidate, Dakuku Peterside

Dakuku Peterside, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming Gubernatorial election in Rivers state has described those that refer to him as ‘the boy’ of the outgoing governor of the state as ‘talking out of ignorance’.

Peterside clarified the relationship between himself and the APC leader in River state as that of mentor and protégé.

‘Governor Amaechi mentors me’ he stated in an interview conducted by Seun Okinbaloye.

He provided further insight into his statement with the assertions ‘Jesus Christ is my mentor in life, i have always maintained that…but i understudy Governor Amaechi in

politics’.

Dispelling allegations the incumbent imposed him as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Rivers state, Mr Peterside insisted he clinched the ticket via a wholly democratic process.

‘there were seven candidates..We later got shortlisted to four and they elders then went into what was like a conclave and i was chosen…it was strictly a democratic process’ he stated.

He also debunked the tag of godfather slammed on Governor Rotimi Amaech as well as the sticker of corrupt public official.

‘he is not corrupt…i have worked with him…he is not corrupt..and he is not a god father’ he clarified at different points in the interview aired on Channels Television station in the night of Sunday- 05/04/15.
