Omosede Igbinedion Not Picked As Ighodalo’s Running Mate – Insiders

Insiders have reacted to emerging claims that Omosede Igbinedion has been picked as the Deputy Governor candidate to Asue Ighodalo in the Edo gubernatorial race.

Ighodalo recently emerged as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the September 21, 2024 Edo state gubernatorial election.

And emerging claims are alleging that Omose Igbinedion, the daughter of the Esama of Benin -Chief Gabriel Igbinedion has been picked as Ighodalo’s running mate.

The claims hit town along with e-posters backing them.

Insiders, however, say the claims are not true,

One of those who shut down the claims is Wilson Ighodalo who commented “Disregard it…” under one of the e-campaign posters on social media.

Wilson Ighodalo is the National Coordinator at “National Coordinator, Response to Drugs Related Organised Crime in Nigeria Sensitisation Training for Nigeria Police Force” and an active campaigner of Asue Ighodalo for Governor.

He gave his reaction on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, on the Facebook of Mike Effiong, the Senior Special Adviser ( Lagos Liaison) to Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno.

Effiong – who posted the material with the caption “WITH @omosedei..?.This is not a bad combo for Edo State” – also responded “no” to a poser on whether the development is official.

Lucky Igbinedion, another child of the Esama of Behin was the Governor of Edo State from from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He governed the state on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

Omorede Igbinedion is a former commissioner and House of Representatives member ( 2015 to 2019 ) in Edo state.
