Mr Rotimi Rahmon, the Chairman of Ado Odo Local Government Area of Ogun state is currently enmeshed in a wave of growing image denting controversy.

The speculation about the person of the local council boss centres around the theft of N4.8m meant Eil Ed Kabir rams and part payment of 3months salary arrears owe workers at the place.

Sources claimed on Tuesday October 23 2012- two robbers riding a motorcycle way laid two staffers of the local government on their way from the bank.

The robbers reportedly forced a red Toyota Camry car the council workers were driving to halt and collected a black bag containing N4.8m.

The robbers reportedly went away with the bag and the car key ( to forestall pursuit) in the incident that transpired three days to the Eil Ed Kabir Festival.

Sources confirmed the taken away fund was meant for the purchase of about one hundred and twenty (120) rams and offset part of a 3months salary owed workers.

Informants divulged the occurrence that transpired about five minutes drive to the local council office- and by the Palace of traditional ruler, the Olota of Ota forced the Ram seller to take back all of his 120 strong stock.

Insiders revealed arrangement was made for him to supply and be paid- but he refused to make the deal on credit when he learnt of the robbery.

Informants revealed since the happenstance came to be- different conjectures have been on, about the role incident, the role of the chairman and his administration of the local government.

‘The image of the Chairman has received a big blow over the development’ a source divulged.

‘Their have been different talks on the robbery, the manner and way it was carried- but nothing concrete has been achieved in recovering the fund’ another informant divulged.

Investigation revealed it was a gloomy celebration for most of the workers- and a controversy filled one for the Chairman, with those scheduled to receive the earmarked 120 rams hugely disappointed.

‘The development has left him greatly embattled, with workers and stakeholders denied the benefit of the stolen fund calling for his head!’

How the Local Government Chairman intends to weather the storm is yet unclear at present.
