Details As Abiodun, Adebutu Share Ogun Labour Party

in the bid to win the March 18, 2023, Ogun state gubernatorial election

Emerging details have that an increasing number of members and supporters of the Labour Party (LP) in Ogun state are switching allegiance.

Gubernatorial candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, Ladi Adebutu (PDP), and All Progressives Congress, (APC) claim to have endorsements from the leadership of the party in the bid to win the March 18, 2023, Ogun state gubernatorial election.

“Interestingly they are both right because what has happened is that groups and factions within the LP have separately endorsed the Adebutu and Abiodun in the name of the Labour Party” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Though a former commissioner Kehinde Shogunle is touted as the gubernatorial candidate of the party, there are counterclaims among party members that Labour Party has no gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state.

Tolulope Phillips, a Federal House of Representatives candidate canvassing that Adebutu should be voted as the next Governor of Ogun state attributes his position to Labour Party not having a governorship candidate in Ogun state.

This is despite claims by the party leadership at the national level earlier in the year that Shogunle is party’s gubernatorial candidate .

“But whatever the true position, it appears Sogunle has been abandoned” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The most telling of his “abandonment ” is the endorsement of Govenor Abiodun for a second term by Executive members of the Labour Party led by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr Arabambi Abayomi.

Arabambi was a major push behind Shogunle’s gubernatorial ambition.
