In commemoration of the 70th birthday of Senator, H.E. Otunba Gbenga Daniel, a man of many parts with a deep passion for sports, a table tennis competition is currently ongoing at the Conference Hotel, Ijebu-Ode.
In demonstration of his enduring love for the “ding-dong” game, this competition serves as a fitting tribute to a leader who has consistently promoted sports development.
It will be recalled that during his tenure, OGD championed the construction of three major stadiums across the state, which have hosted notable sporting events such as the National Sports Festival, University Games, and even FIFA-organized matches involving Argentina.
Table tennis, fondly known as the “ding-dong” game, is an engaging indoor sport that promotes physical fitness and mental alertness.
