NSCDC South-South Team Busts Illegal Mining Operations
has intensified enforcement
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intensified enforcement across the South–South region, targeting illegal mineral processing and trade.
Led by DSC Emmanuel Abiahu, the South–South Mining Marshal Team sealed a Port Harcourt-based facility for operating without the full statutory licences required by law. The operation followed credible intelligence and preliminary investigations, confirming serious breaches of the Mining Act.
Further investigations are ongoing, and violators will face strict legal action. Abiahu warned all operators to obtain the necessary licences and permits before engaging in mineral processing, purchasing, or exportation, emphasizing that non-compliance will not be tolerated.
Under the leadership of Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, the NSCDC remains committed to enforcing the law, promoting compliance, and safeguarding Nigeria’s mineral resources.
