The Nigerian customs just perfected arrangement with the financial institution appointing it – Revenue Collector.

‘The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has appointed Heritage Bank as a designated Customs Duty Collecting Bank in a move designed to further strengthen the Services’ renewed drive for improved revenue generation.

‘This is sequel to a signed agreement between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Heritage Bank Management on the 20th May, 2013 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

With its recent successful deployment of the world acclaimed Finnacle 10 banking software, Heritage bank announced a strong intention to crystallize a robust branchless banking platform that is highly technology-driven while promoting business efficiency across many frontiers.

‘With the NCS appointment, the Bank is expected to help the Customs broaden its revenue base through a more efficient system of duty collection as well as provide hassle free, simplified platform for businesses and individuals to remit their payments to NCS.

‘Commenting on the appointment, Heritage Bank’s Executive Director, Niyi Adeseun, promised a revolution in duty collection administration in the country.

He noted that “Heritage Bank is established on the premise of innovation, partnership and sustainability and this is a cardinal idea we bring to bear on all our engagements”.

‘Speaking further, he said, “As a timeless wealth partner that seeks to help our customers build, transfer and preserve their wealth, our recently signed partnership with the Nigerian Customs Service will not only deliver maximum value to the Customs Service but more importantly, revolutionise how duties, tolls and fees are collected in the country.
