Nigerian Air Force Raises Alarm Over Fake Recruitment, Provides Verified Channels
that its recruitment and enlistment processes are strictly free of charge
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has warned the public to disregard fake recruitment messages currently circulating on various online platforms, which falsely claim that the service has commenced enlistment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC).
In an official statement, the NAF clarified that no recruitment exercise is ongoing at the moment and described the widely circulating claims as fraudulent attempts to mislead unsuspecting Nigerians.
“The Nigerian Air Force wishes to state that no such recruitment exercise is currently ongoing,” the statement read. “The public is therefore advised to disregard these messages in their entirety.”
The NAF reiterated that its recruitment and enlistment processes are strictly free of charge, transparent, and merit-based. It emphasized that at no point does the service engage third parties or charge any fees during its recruitment process.
“Whenever a recruitment exercise is to be conducted, it will be officially announced and widely publicised through credible national dailies, the NAF official website, and its verified social media platforms,” the statement noted.
As cases of online fraud continue to rise, the Air Force urged Nigerians to exercise extreme caution and avoid falling prey to unofficial advertisements. It also provided a list of its verified channels for accurate and up-to-date information:
