Nigerian Air Force Boosts Leadership Capacity

with advanced leadership tools, strategic foresight

Senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) joined global defence experts and strategic partners in Istanbul, Turkey, from 28 July to 6 August 2025, for an executive development programme designed to prepare airpower leaders for the evolving future of air operations.

The innitiative focused on equipping participants with advanced leadership tools, strategic foresight, and the capacity to integrate emerging aerospace technologies into modern military operations.

The workshop, themed “Leadership, Technology and Strategy: The Future of Air Operations”, is an intensive executive development programme featuring interactive sessions, case studies, simulations, and group exercises.

Conducted in two batches of ten officers each, the training provided a unique platform for peer-to-peer exchange with internationally acclaimed facilitators and defence experts, equipping NAF senior officers with forward-looking insights for 21st-century air operations.

This executive training reflects the foresight of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, whose modernization policy and mission-oriented force development remain key drivers of NAF’s operational excellence.

Beyond knowledge transfer, the programme represents a bold step in international collaboration, strategic reflection, and professional exchange, positioning the NAF as a forward-looking air power in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
