More APC Chieftains Throw Weights Behind Audu’s Son Mona As Re-Election Ticket Slips Out Of Yahaya Bello’s Hand!

The chances of re-election seeking Governor Yahaya Bello retaining the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial ticket continue to wane as more party chieftains back Prince Mona Mustapha, the son of late governor Abubarkar Audu.

Mustapha Mona Audu just returned to the ruling All Progressives Congress after assurances from major players within the Presidency he would be backed to replace Governor Yahaya Bello as the gubernatorial candidate of the party for the November 2019 Kogi governorship election.

Re-election seeking Governor Bello is facing bad image problem in Kogi state over his style of administration and performance that has alienated quite a number of the populace, particularly state workers owed salaries.

The leaders of the APC are seriously considering not to risk fielding unpopular Bello in the face of the growing strength of main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party across the country.

“This has put Mona Audu in good position to get the APC gubernatorial ticket in Kogi state” societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng checks revealed Mona Mustapha Audu subtly revealed the identities of his backers in a recent thank you social media post -published by justumagazine.com-  which reads

“…Thank you Asiwaju for being a great father. Thank you my incoming Mr. Speaker. Thank you to Distinguish Senator Kabir Gaya, my father, Thank you Hon. Faleke for being a big brother and solid support structure and thank you to Hon. Kabir, my incoming member. Thank you Honourable Ministers Lai Mohammed and Obanikoro. Ladies and Gentlemen, let the games begin… #kogi1stkogi4all #monadecome #kogiagenda “.

The further checks made by societynow.ng revealed that obviously aware his party’s gubernatorial ticket is slipping out of his hands, re-election seeking Governor Bello has intensified underground lobbying to step the loss of party leaders confidence – and increased publicity blitz on the projects he initiated, irrespective of level of completion, to fight unpleasant perception about his performance.
