Minutes To Event, Confusion Reigns Over Where Ajimobi Will Be Buried
The checks by societynow.ng revealed that minutes to the appointed burial time of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi today, Sunday June 28, 2020 confusion still reigns over his final resting place.
This development is based on conflicting messages circulating about town by his family who wants him buried at the Mosque that he built and the Islamic scholars who insist such a move is against the tenets of Islam.
Samples of the messages are reproduced – unedited.

*RESOLVED NOW*
*Alh Kunle Sanni Shared Now at 22:30hrs:*
Alhamdulilah, the rigmarole surrounding where Alhaj Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi would be buried has been resolved. Prayer on his remains would be at Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Mosque at 11am. HE WOULD NOT BE BURIED IN THE MOSQUE.
Internment would be in one of his houses which I don’t have the authority to mention. If there is need for that, the family would do so. Only few people would be admitted in the Mosque because of the Corona virus protocol. Let brothers and sisters who have no invitation stay at home and pray for the repose of the soul of this benefactor of the Muslim Ummah.
Once again I thank all brothers and sisters for their concern. Let me state that the Muslim community of Oyo state were only admonishing, sermonising , advocating and advising based on the Shariah. Final decision is beyond us. If we had our way he would be buried in one of the Muslim Makbaras (cemeteries) scattered all over Ibadan but that would be a tall dream. That is where all of us would wish to be buried. Let us continue praying that Allah be Merciful on us and halt this pandemic
Thanks for your patience and perseverance
: *Ajimobi will not be buried at his Oke Ado Mosque*
Thee concerns and comments by our brothers on this platform are all well noted and appreciated.
Please note that, H.E. Sen. Ajimobi will not be buried in the premises of the Mosque. Prayers will only be offered by a few invited clerics and close family members in the Mosque.
We are very mindful of all the protocols and the limitations on social gathering, which we will never run foul of.
The information that came out was only meant not to keep us all in the dark.
Your concerns that things be done rightly is most appreciated
May Almighty Allah reward us all and accept the return of our brother, Sen. Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi.
