Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun state is facing an unrelenting battle.

The battle is defined as a non-stop campaign targeting perception about his competence.

Spearheading this campaign is Ajibola Basiru, 51.

Basiru, a former Senator representing Osun Senatorial District is the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former lecturer at the Osun State University, Osogbo has turned the tormentor-in-chief of Governor Adeleke with unceasing bold and daring assertions, especially in the last three weeks.

Information at hand revealed Basiru, a Nigerian law and an ex- Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice has been taking the Governor to task on how he is handling the state and raising trending questions about the various support provided by the Federal Government.

While the APC is in charge of the Federal Government, Adeleke and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are firmly in charge of Osun state.

The PDP recorded a sweeping victory in the last general election in the state- after APC was in charge for 12 years.

Basiru is at the heart of the moves by the APC to reclaim the state.

He is leveraging influence from two other close associates, Gboyeg Oyetola ( the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy and immediate past Governor) and Iyiola Omisore ( Former Deputy Governor and immediate past National Secretary of the APC) to achieve this objective.

The three of them enjoy the confidence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in returning the APC to reckoning in Osun state.
