Olufunsho, the wife of re election seeking Governor of Ogun State – ibikunle Amosun got more than she expected in attempt to drum up support for her husband.

The wife of the state head man battling to retain his seat paid a courtesy visits to market women as parts of awareness creation and votes canvassing for the administration of her better half.

Her place of visit was the Sango Market.

According to information available to societynown.com the heavily guarded first lady of Ogun state had arrived the market place all well attired and kick started moves to drum up for her husband’s re election bid in earnest before the table turned.

According to a witness ‘some of the market turned ugly…they started with voicing their anger Governor Amosun’s administration and before you k now it abuses and curses started flying’

Informants however claimed despite the heavy presence of security details at her disposal, the Governor’s wife maintained her cool.

‘When she saw the situation couldn’t be control..she turned her back and moved on to another part to pass her message’ another source divulged.

The verbal aggressors reportedly carried on hurling invectives but were left alone by the governor’s wife convoy.

This development comes as school teachers begin indefinite strike action in the state.

The teachers reportedly took the drastic action over allegations of flouting understanding reached with them by the government of Mr Ibikunle Amosun.

Informants claimed notice of impending strike was issued but not addressed before the stay off work action started today.

Students were seen thronging the streets as teachers refused to attend to them.

A student source disclosed ‘we were told to go home and watch television for further announcement’

An observer interprets the twin incident abuses hurled on the governor’s wife and the indefinite strike action embarked by teachers ‘it certainly doesn’t bode well….it’s a pointer to grave situation on ground’

Governor Amosun faces a mega alliance from oppositions in his attempt at re election.

Societynowng.com reproduces an alleged notice given to the Ogun state Government by the striking teachers.

‘FLOUTING OF MOU WITH NUT OGUN STATE WING BY OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT.

We wish to draw Ogun state Government attention to the contents of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between NUT Ogun State wing and Ogun state Government of February 2014.

You will recall various efforts and attempts of the leadership of NUT Ogun state wing to ensure that Ogun State Government implement the contents of the said MOU, all to no avail.

Sequel to these, @ a statutory state wing Executive Council meeting of the NUT Ogun state wing held today friday 9th January 2015, SWEC-in- Session reviewed her efforts & decided to put Ogun State Government on notice of WITHDRAWAL OF TEACHERS SERVICES as from FRIDAY 16th January 2015 if the contents of the said MOU are not fully met.

Which includes……

(1) reinstatement of 34 genuine cases of pry sch teachers that were advised to retire compulsorily in Nov/Dec 2013 out of 198 teachers

(2)Ogun state government withholding all deductions from Teachers salaries i.e bank loans, cooperative deductions & check-off dues to NUT btw october-december 2014

(3)Non-payment of year 2014 leave Allowance to Teachers on grade levels 13 & above in both pry/secondary schools of Ogun State.

(4)Non-recognition of University Degree Holders in pry schools to ensure advancement beyond
Grade Level 14 as it is done in Lagos, Osun, Edo, Oyo, Kwara, Kogi, Abia, Enugu, Kaduna etc.

(5)Non-release of names of short listed senior school principals General & Headmasters General.

(6) Non-payment of the balance of 12.5% Teachers Peculiar Allowance to Ogun state Teachers
despite Governor’s promise to commence payment as from October 2014 salaries to teachers.

(7)Non-release of running grants to school principals and primary school Head Teachers that were owed 4 terms each. This notice of strike action is hereby served on Ogun State Government this day Friday 9’
