Many Stranded As Security Forces Restrict Movements As Early As 8.am In Rivers Rerun

Hundreds of commuters are stranded in various part of Rivers state as a result of today’s legislative rerun election.

Although the exercise will commence at 8am, security forces have restricted movements, subjecting residents to hardship. Only electoral officials, journalists and security personnel are allowed to move freely.
Commuters are lined on both sides of the road in places like Rumola, Rumokoro, Air Force, Artillery Junction Garrison in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The situation is also the same in Onne in Eleme local government area of the state.

The election will hold across the three senatorial districts, eight federal constituencies, and 10 state constituencies.

The federal constituencies are Degema/Bonny; Opobo/Nkoro/Andoni ; Okrika/Ogu-Bolo; Akuku-Toru/Asari Toru; Etche/Omuma; Ikwere/Emohua; Khana Gokana; and Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo.

The state constituencies are Eleme, Gokana, Asari-Toru I, Asari-Toru II, Andoni, Khana II, Etche II, Ikwere, Bonny and Degema.
