Lawmaker & Obat Oil Boss, Obateru Akinruntan’s Son, Yomi Defects From PDP To APC

Abayomi Akinruntan, the lawmaker representing Ilaje Constituency I at the Ondo State House of Assembly and son of Obat Oil Chairman, Obateru Akinruntan, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yomi ,whose father is also the Olugbo of Igbo Kingdom, announced his defection after a short meeting with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

He was received into his new party, All Progressives Congress from the People’s Democratic Party by the Secretary to the State Governmnet, Ifedayo Agegunde at the Coca Conference Hall of the Governor’s office.

Prior to his defection, he is labelled a staunch supporter of sacked speaker, Jumoke Akindele.

Yomi was elected into office via the April 15 2015 state house of assembly election.
