Saturday September 10 2011, the Lagos social scene bubbled endlessly with great excitements as multiple events rocked the scene.

Players in national politics were draw to the state of excellence courtesy of the National Security Adviser, Owoeye Azazi. His son of the similar name but addressed as junior to differentiate between father and son wedded on that day. The marriage between Junior and his beau,Nonzo Njokanma held at Church of Assumption, Falomo Lagos.

Former Governor Donals Duke and wife, Onari, Ex Governor, Alamesiagha, Senator Daisy Danjuma, City Business man, Wale Babalakin and Helms man of defunct bank, All States- Ebitimi Banigo.

The event was tagged lavish celebration of love and friendship by those that witnessed.

Same day, in another part of Lagos, Oil Baron and latest darling of celebrity tabloids, Ifeanyi Uba initiated moves to draw the curtain on his celebrated 40th birthday celebration. He tagged the closing event ‘Celebrating Creativity Concert’. It held at Expo Hall, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos.

The occasion that had comedians Gbenga Adeyinka and Basket Mouth (Bright Okpoucha) as anchor persons was more of a charity event- with the billionaire dolling out ‘gifts’ valued in the region of millions of naira under this guise on the other. It was tagged more of an empowerment night by those that witnessed the occasion. Beginning two hours behind the 3.00pm schedule, sources claimed that it the perfect ‘charity gesture’ to end a lavish birthday celebration. The event was put together the ‘Ifeanyi Uba Foundation’.

On a personal level, the occasion also doused the growing rumor of trouble rocking the celebrant’s marriage. His wife, was an attendee at the occasion. And according to sources ‘she certainly doesn’t look like someone battling any form of ailment- or just returned from a cut short bed rest’.

The grapevine credited the development to crack in the marriage over allegations of extramarital affairs by Uba with a Unilag Undergraduate, Nkem.

Another wedding held on that day was that of Dilys Ann Eya, the daughter of Nduka Eya, the secretary General of pan Igbo group, Ohaneze Ndigo

The nuptials held at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki with a reception at Lagoon Restaurant, Victoria Island Lagos.

According to eye witnesses the ceremony was elegantly simple.

Event transformed Ann into Mrs Owen. The husband’s first name is Chamberline.

Later same day- visitor to one of the Azazi’s wedding, Alex Otti- the managing Director of Diamond Bank was honored by his kinsmen.

The group known as Okennachi Kindred, Lagos held an event tagged Grand Reception in Honour of Dr Alex Otti ( Ugwu Aro) at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Lagos.

It was a Dinner.

Amongst those present aside the members of the hosting groups and their cliques were, Governors Timpre Silva and Rochas Okorocha, Professor Anya O Anya and others.
