Kwara PDP’s Festering Turmoil, Gbemi Saraki’s Looming Defection To APC Talks Strengthen Gov Ahmed Abdulfatah’s Re Election Chances
Political analysis and talks all over town revealed the festering internal turmoil within the Kwara state chapter of People’s Democratic Party has virtually gifted re election seeking incumbent, Abdulfatah Ahmed – operating on the platform of the rival All Progressives Congress – re election to office.

‘it’s like this is one man contest…Abdulfatah seeking to handover to himself with the manner of visibility the incumbent’s re election campaign as adopted and ferocity at canvassing for votes while the opposition’s attempt remains at a whimper’
Information gathered by societynowng.com revealed the biggest flash recorded so far in awareness campaign by the PDP and it’s candidate, Simeon Ajibola in the upcoming gubernatorial election is the state transpired during the Presidentially rally for re election seeking President Goodluck Jonathan in Ilorin.
According to an insider ‘that the rally witnessed the lowest turnout for Mr President in the course of his round the country campaigns so far says a lot about the troubles afflicting the state PDP’
‘the venue was sparse of attendance, it was like the President specifically came to campaign for Ajibola…and not an avenue to show the strength of the party in the state and serious at taking over the state from APC and also helping the President to retain his seat’ a stakeholder on ground disclosed.

The after effect of the rancour- ridden gubernatorial primary that produced Ajibola as flag bearer is said to be festering and strangulating the strength of the party.
And at the root of this development is degenerated fight for control of the party.
Bola Shagaya, Gbemi Saraki, and other party stalwarts like Iyiola Oyedepo, Toyin Olososasa and others are in a protracted fight right than pool influence and resources for a common goal.
The simmering brouhaha is believed to have further greatly fragmented the party structure already in shambles when leading players like Bukola Saraki and his large following moved to the opposition party.
Sources disclosed the intense in fighting which cost Gbemi Saraki her gubernatorial ambition and ministerial slot is such that there are talks she is set to defect to the rival All Progressive Party.
Gbemi, the face of the remnant political force still loyal to late master politician Oloye Olusola Saraki is said to be perfecting the move to further exhibit the political shallowness of those that have assumed position of influence in the state PDP.
According to a source the ploy to move to the APC was initiated from out of the state and is being scripted in a way that would deal devastating blow the re election moves of Mr Jonathan and further put PDP in the state to the dust.
Further revelations have it that already APC loyalists in the state have started milking political mileage out of the defection talks, claiming it shows which party is truly the winning team.
However whether the national leadership of the PDP would be able to stall the looming development remains to be seen.
