Popular Northern acts – OG Abbah, DJ Swaggs and Hypeman Skyboi – closed out the ultimate youth experience that was The Gathering on 100 in Kano with stellar performances. They kept thousands of attendees on their feet until the very end of the 10-hour gathering, this weekend.

Held at Meena Events Centre on Saturday, July 11, the event had already spent the day drawing young attendees into football matches, gaming tournaments, dance competitions, movie screenings, Pitchathon sessions and creative experiences. But as the sun began to set, the crowd gradually shifted towards the stage, setting the scene for one of the biggest highlights of the event.

DJ Swaggs got the crowd going with a set packed with Afrobeats and amapiano favourites before Hypeman Skyboi took over, keeping the audience engaged between sets. Recording artiste OG Abbah then rounded off the night with a live performance that had the crowd singing along, dancing and enjoying every moment before the event came to a close.

Performing some of his popular records, he had the audience singing back almost every lyric, with hundreds of phones lighting up the venue as friends danced, celebrated and captured the moment together. Beyond the stage, the experience continued across the venue. The community mural was a canvas of paintings, signatures and handwritten messages, while the movie pods remained busy with attendees looking to unwind before the night came to an end. Across every corner, young people found different ways to express themselves, connect with new people and create memories that stretched beyond the performances.

The finale was a fitting close to a day that celebrated the many sides of youth culture in Kano, bringing together music, sport, gaming, creativity and entrepreneurship in one shared experience. It also reinforced why The Gathering on 100 continues to resonate with young Nigerians by creating spaces where talent, culture and community come together naturally.

The Kano edition joins Lagos, Aba and Enugu as another successful stop. The Gathering on 100 moves next to Abuja, it carries forward the same idea that has shaped every city so far, giving young people the freedom to compete, create, connect and Live it 100.
