The government of Kano state caused a bit of a stir recently.
It announced the barring of women and men from boarding the same public transport.

The policy which takes eeffect from January – 2020- expressly forbids men and women from boarding the same tricycle.

The announcement which was made by the Kano state government on Christmas day – December 25, 2019 – attracted huge condemnation from far and wide.

And the knocks for governor Abdullahi Ganduje and his administration have doubled with the emergence of a picture of the picture of the governor seated closely with a woman on a plane.

The picture which now decorates a lot of timelines on social media is used to qualify Governor Gandoje in unflattering terms.
