…incumbent, Orhii in panicky moves to retain job

After her inability to retain her seat at the Senate, Iyabo Obasanjo

Bello, daughter of ex president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has set her eyes on a new portfolio.

She wants to become the new Director General of National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control. And she is said to have initiated the moves toward achieving this aim with tactic support from her father.

Insiders revealed that Obasanjo Bello set her eyes on the NAFDAC job after attempts to get her into the ministerial nominations list failed to sail through.

She is said to be calling in favors owed to ensure that unlike the ministerial ambition- the NAFDAC job sees the light of the day.

Investigations conducted by www.societynowng.com revealed that the lobby for the job has become so intense that the incumbent head of NAFDAC has become panicky.

Sources claimed that one of the major points supporters of the Iyabo Obasanjo for NAFDAC D.G campaign are using to champion their cause is the fact that, unlike the era of his predecessor- Orhii’s tenure has virtually coated the agency in obscurity.
Paul Orhii, NAFDAC Boss

The campaign has an elaborated claim that Iyabo Obasanjo, based on her experience as Chairman Senate Committee on Health- and depth as a politician with extensive contacts and influence, would do a better job than Paul Orhii.

Very privy sources however informed www.societynowng.com that the hidden agenda is the intent by Obasanjo Bello to use the agency as a launch pad back to political reckoning- like Akunluyi used it to achieve political credibility.

Clinical observers however claimed that the plan appears to be taking shape by the day- with former president Obasanjo said to have given his blessing to his daughter’s latest adventure.

Further investigations by www.societynowng.com revealed that the incumbent is presently engaged in counter lobbying to retain his job.

And in a bit to puncture allegation of non performance against him- he is said to have recently engaged in a series of media campaign to shore up his image and that of the agency.

Whether he would make a success of his bid or Iyabo Obasanjo would succeed in her adventure is a matter to be seen in the nearest future.

Mr Paul Orhii did not pick his phone or respond to text messages on the matter at press time.
