Fresh details have it that the emergence of Michael Odugunle ( Baba Ajilo) as the chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers is about to be upturned.

This is as a result of the ferocious underground fight by victim of the development, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo)

Backed by strong behind the scene influences, Oluomo a known favorite of the political leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu – based in closeness to another unionist Mustapha ‘’Seego’’ Adekunle – is said to be pushing hard for the cancellation of the process that threw up Baba Ajilo as the successor of outgoing chairman, Tajudeen Agbede.

Agbede who is a strong loyalist of former governor Akinwunmi Ambode ‘’engineered’’ the emergence of Baba Ajilo as his successor.

Societynow.ng learned the process flouted the laid down rules and regulation of the NURTW regarding election and appointment of officials.

‘’There was no election, the whole thing was a hurriedly done and Baba Ajilo suddenly became chairman’’ societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng learned that Agbede orchestrated the move based on raging conflict between self and Oluomo which resulted in affiliations to different political groups, though members of the same political party – All Progressives Congress (Agbede is loyal to Ambode while Oluomo is hardcore Tinubu supporter).

Insiders disclosed that Oluomo has taken the case to the National Executive of the NURTW to look into the matter and order election for the position of chairman and other executive positions.

‘’Interestingly, the Agbede process only threw up Baba Ajilo as Chairman and left other executive positions vacant’’ a source stated.

‘’And that in itself is very odd, highly irregular’’ another source threw in.

The checks made by societynow.ng revealed that Oluomo stands a very good chance of getting the move by Agbede that produced Baba Ajilo as chairman annulled.

According to information available, the outgoing National President of NURTW Najeem Yasin appears to have ceded the decision to determine what to do with the situation in Lagos state to his about to be sworn in successor, Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa.

‘’The good thing for Oluomo is that he gave Baruwa serious backing to emerge as the National President of the Union and the bad thing for Agbede is that he contested against Baruwa and threw everything he had into the lost fight’’ a source stated.

Insiders disclosed that already Agbede has initiated plan to prepare for a possible election with the plot to declare Baba Ajilo as caretaker committee chairman until the election – if the need arises.

‘’The plot is to keep Ajilo in the saddle and give in the advantage of the power of incumbency since he would naturally be Agbede’s candidate should the National Executive order for an election to take place’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng learned the warring parties stands evenly matched – at press time – should Baba Ajilo’s emergence as NURTW chairman in Lagos be voided and an election ordered by the National Executive of the transport board.
