The Presidency says that reports that the Minister of Finance, Wale Edum has proposed a N105.000 (One hundred and five thousand Naira) has minimum wage to President Bola Tinubu is wrong.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga shut down claim that sprouted today and is fast becoming widespread minutes ago.

He wrote on social media “the Honorable Minister of Finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun has not proposed N105,000 minimum wage.”

And added ” The contrary story being disseminated is false.”

The claims of the proposal of N105.000 minimum wage by Minister Edun – dispelled by the Presidency as false – emerged barely 48 hours after President Tinubu directed the coordinating minister of the nation’s economy to come up with the template of what is acceptable to all stakeholders.

The direct forms part of the agreement that enabled the organised labour to call off the strike action that crippled the nation’s economy for two days, over demand for increased wage and related issues, while a solution is explored within a week.
