Insiders Insist Fayose, Orji Kalu Remain Jolly Good Friend Despite Public Face Off Over Buhari

Governor of Ekiti state and former state helmsman of Abia Orji Uzor Kalu recently exchanged harsh words in the public space.

The two political leaders came for each other over support for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fayose in a circulated statement recently barred Kalu from Ekiti state labeling him a sellout.

Kalu recently defected from the People’s Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress and took up the mantra of polishing the image – and selling the agenda – of Buhari everywhere he goes.

The former Abia Governor’s visit to Ekiti state under a ‘Peace Advocacy” was in line with this plot.

State Governor Fayose issued a statement declaring Kalu who is a sellout not wanted in the state.

Fayose, one of the shining lights of the PDP is one the harshest opposition of President Buhari and his party, APC.

Kalu had hit back when he visited Ekiti state labeling Fayose his boy who overstepped his bounds.

Checks by societynow.ng revealed the exchange is just what it is “a public spat and nothing more”.

“It’s all politics, they needed to do that to mirror being on different political sides to the world, but their friendship of over fifteen years remains intact” an insider disclosed.

Societynow.ng gathered those familiar with the two political actors know that they are jolly good friends, so a simulation of a fallout was choreographed by the duo to suit the kind of politics being played in this part of the world.

“Just a public show nothing more, they have been wonderful friends for too long not to know how to go about their businesses publicly and privately” a source disclosed.

Societynow.ng’s checks revealed that before the recent public spectacle Fayose and Kalu are known to visit each or link up at leisure places to have quiet moments.

Kalu’s suite at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos is said to be one the favored meeting points of the incumbent and former governor.

“But I guess they would be more discreet with such hookups now they are on different sides and have adopted the public stance of political rivalry” a source opined.
