Societynow.ng gathered that indeed there is a silent and highly imaginative move to make former governor Ibikunle Amosun the next president of Nigeria.

Societynow.ng gathered that is why Amosun, who is the Senator representing Ogun Central, has not outrightly denied recent reports of having a presidential ambition but distanced himself from the timing.

Amosun in a reaction, issued on his behalf by Abiola Adeyemi, described those who are engaged in such a campaign at this period President Muhammadu Buhari just started consolidating on the achievements of his first term as ‘’Enemy of the state’’.

Though Amosun stated ‘’ As a Senator, my hands are full and I am committed to working with fellow patriots on how best to move our nation forward by supporting and working with President Buhari’’, insiders insist the real message is actually in the last line of the statement by the former governor.

‘’…There is a time for everything. The time to address 2023 is clearly not anywhere close.’’ Amosun stated.

‘’What he is saying is obvious, this is the wrong time to be openly associated with such a move’’ societynow.ng learned.

The investigation made by societynow.ng revealed that Amosun has emerged a possible successor to President Buhari in the books of the powerful decision-makers with a lot of say simple known as ‘’ the cabal’’

Initially a very speculative choice, sources disclosed that the former governor is increasingly gaining acceptance as the ideal candidate in the comity of these powerful individuals made up majorly of top players from the northern part of the country.

Kayode Fayemi

Amosun who enjoys extraordinary rapport with President Muhammdu Buhari is perhaps the politician from the southwest that enjoys the strongest ties with ‘the cabal’’ at present societynow.ng learned.

The added revelation available has it that Amosun’s emergence as the possible successor of President Buhari in the books of ‘’The cabal’’ dwarfs the chances of another name initially strongly considered, Kayode Fayemi, the governor of Ekiti state – and threatens the lifelong ambition of powerful politician with his foot soldiers already hard at work, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Some believe that Amosun’s ‘’enemy of state’’comment may actually be a direct dig at Tinubu.

Agents who claim to be working for Tinubu are churning out all manners of slogans under multiple identities propagating the message of Tinubu for President on and offline.

Amosun and Tinubu, though members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, belong to different caucus within the party. And they have different political loyalties and agenda which have resulted in a simmering conflict between them.

Sources disclosed that though Amosun might have quickly moved to blanket the reports of having ambition to become President Buhari’s successor, the former governor has not heard the last of the development.

‘’The last thing Amosun needs now is for the news to be feasted on and different unfavorable angles explored. Amosun needs a media blackout for the people in favor of the idea to make it acceptable to other critical stakeholders but I don’t think Amosun will get that. This is a game of high stakes, others interested in the same objective will ensure he is dragged and I won’t be surprised if it is discovered that this was the aim of the initial reports about his presidential ambition’’ societynow.ng learned.

Sources close to Amosun, however, disclosed to societynow.ng that he is not currently engaged in any known conscious campaign to succeed Buhari but as a politician will certainly not turn down the opportunity to become President if he gets it.
