Inside Story: Olu Of Imasayi’s Selection Valid Despite Claims By Suspended Chief

Oba Kuoye Lukman Olalekan Adeleke has stated emphatically that he remains the Olu of Imasayi.

This development is in response to a protest with Timothy Adeleye, the Balogun Imasayi as the arrowhead against the throne.

The declaration by the newly crowned king who received his staff and instrument of office from Governor Dapo Abiodun in August 2021 comes with inside details of how he attained his new position.

Information at hand revealed that eleven royal families constitute the Oyesokun ruling House that has the right to produce the new King of Imasayi.

Oba Kuoye whose family, Kuoye was second on the list got the endorsement of eight out of the eleven royal families and was officially nominated as the chosen candidate by the Oyesokun ruling house.

Further revelation has it that because the selection process and officials chosen to oversee the process were threatened by the desperation of some the stakeholders, the state Government ordered the selection should be conducted at the Local Government headquarters in line with the Chiefs Law of Ogun State, 2006.

Oba Kuoye also got the support of the most senior kingmakers – the oldest – Odofin and Asaba whose votes carry huge weights in the entire process.

Added details have it that contrary to the claims of the “protesters” reportedly fighting for the interest of another aspirant who lost out – Oba Kuoye was endorsed by the Ifa Oracle.

“After the installation, Olu of Imasayi (Oba Kuoye)went into seclusion (Ipebi) and all the rites therein completed according to the dictates of ifa oracle” information at hand revealed.

Interestingly, the man who is the power behind the agitation Balogun Akinyele is said to have been suspended from the palace of Olu of Imasayi by the late Oba George Olude who reigned between1982-1989.

His successor by Oba Gbadebo Idowu Oni, Aribio III reportedly inherited the suspension order against Balogun Akinyele and did not rescind it all through his thirty-year reign.

“The means the suspension order remains valid” according to the information at hand.

Akinyele is accused of backing the protest to stage a comeback to the palace in an attempt to regain relevance.

“I remained the Olu of Imasayi Kingdom and my emergence came through transparent process covered and validated by the government” Oba Kuoye asserted.

And added, “They are just creating a scene where there is no issue”.
