Inside Major Move Against Burial Of Ajimobi At Central Mosque On Sunday

Emerging details have it that there is a major move against the burial of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi at the Central Mosque, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The burial is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, June 28, 2020, at noon but insiders disclosed Islamic leaders are kicking against the move.

Societynow.ng gathered that the opposition to the burial of the former Governor at the Central Mosque is based on the claim that it is totally against the tenets of the faith.

‘’Muslims are buried at the burial ground reserved for such a purpose not even at home not to talk at Mosques’’ is the theme of the stand of the Islamic leaders against the planned burial of the Ajimobi at the Central Mosque.

Societynow.ng gathered that the former governor built the Mosque for the Muslim community in Oyo State.

‘’But that doesn’t accord him the privilege of getting buried there, it is against the faith’’ societynow.ng gathered.

Sources disclosed that while the Islamic leaders in Oyo state are mounting a strong opposition against the planned burial of Ajimobi at the Central Mosque, Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde, a Christian, is backing the family and others in support of the move for a go-ahead of the plan.

The burial of Ajimobi whose death was announced on Thursday, June 25 has already flouted a major rule guiding such an occurrence in Islam.

He was not buried immediately he died or early morning the next day.

And his remains risk flouting another major injunction with the planned burial at the Central Mosque.

The former Governor lost his life to Covid-19.
