Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule has made a case for the revitalization of the DOMA and FARIN RUWA Dams in the state so as to meet the water and electricity needs of the people. 

Engr. Sule made the case when he paid a working visit to the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlunum Utsev in his office in Abuja, where he reemphasized the urgent need to resuscitate both Doma and Farin Ruwa dams chiefly for Irrigation and Hydro-power generation, as well as Eco-tourism. 

The Governor noted that while Doma Dam regulates the flows of the Ohina River,  when revamped; Doma River  is capable of meeting the domestic latent annual demand for power of 163GWh, or close to 19MW of installed energy capacity in addition to commercial and industrial demand. Similarly, Farin Ruwa Waterfalls is more asides its tourism potentials, also has the capacity to generate 40 megawatts of electricity and 40,000 acres of irrigation land for agriculture.
