“I Don’t Know How Workers Are Recruited” Akpabio On Ministry’s Wage Bill From N1.4B To N1.6B

The Minister for Niger Delta Godswill Akpabio spoken on the increase of the wage bill of workers in his ministry from N1.4Billion in 2021 to N1.6Billion in the proposed budget for 2022.

The Minister who fielded questions while addressing the Senate Committee on Ministry for Niger Delta Affairs during the 2022 budget defense exercise stated that “I see new staff everyday. I don’t know how they are recruited. The Federal Civil Service Commission send them to us.

“I have had to question this before. They keep sending us new staff. We are not part of the recruitment exercise. The Civil Service Commission is the body responsible for that”.

The Minister also explained that some staff also got promotions within the which come with increased salaries and that movement from other ministers was also featured in the 2022 proposed budget.
