Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo insists he is destined to become the next governor of Ogun state.

Oladipo is the Ogun state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.

He is said to have made the assertion to friends in public and private.

An insider disclosed he has gone as far as saying it to the face of Governor Ibikunle Amosun during banters at “exco meetings”.

“One of the commissioners called him an aspirant in the presence of the Governor and Bashorun responded he is not an aspirant but incoming governor and Amosun asked him how is that possible and Oladipo responded that it is destined” a source disclosed.

Away from banters, checks by societynow revealed though he may not be making “noise” like others – Oladipo, a former speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, is very serious about his ambition.

He came a very close third in the shadow election conducted by the leaders of Ogun East to determine a consensus gubernatorial candidate for the zone.

“Winner” of the exercise, Bimbo Ashiru has since dumped his “mandate” under intense pressure, opening up the race for all others.

Incidentally, there is a street vibe backing Oladipo’s posture amongst friends.

“There is said to have been a sort of spiritual consultation in Governor Amosun’s camp to determine his successor amongst his men, all the names the Governor favored were labeled as would betray him except Oladipo…I don’t know how true the story is but it is trending” a source disclosed to societynow.

Though the former speaker is enjoying his second term as a commissioner in the government of governor Amosun, it is not clear how ” really chummy” he is with the outgoing state helmsman.

“Am not sure Amosun is backing him as at now…from what I heard, the governor is still keeping a sealed lips on who he favours to succeed him” an insider declared.
