Sources say The Family Fellowship, the church founded by celebrity couple Idowu and Siju Iluyomade, is growing.

The pastors, who left the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 2024 to launch The Family Fellowship in January 2025, have grown the new ministry from less than 40 pioneer members to slightly above 200 regular attendees.

“So, there are usually about 300 people during service, if you add the newcomers and the off-and-on churchgoers,” a source stated.

The pastors are said to be putting their experience and vast contacts as seasoned ministry builders — passionate about family values and life lessons that impact careers — into the church, which currently operates out of Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos State.

They were in charge of “City of David,” one of the flagship parishes of RCCG, dubbed the “wealthiest,” before their exit.

“Sunday services at Family Fellowship are marked by powerful worship sessions dotted with ministrations by known gospel artists, practical teachings, and deep engagement from the congregation,” a source highlighted as some of the new ministry’s attractions.

Added details have it that much of the church’s appeal lies in its blend of “modern relevance and timeless faith.”

While Pastor Idowu Iluyomade’s messages are said to resonate deeply with younger audiences — often weaving current societal issues with biblical principles in a language they can relate to — his wife, Pastor Siju Iluyomade, leads the church’s family and women-focused outreach arms, drawing strength from her years of advocacy in faith-based circles.

Their combined strengths in evangelism, celebrity pull, and influence beyond religious circles are said to be quietly but steadily impacting the growth of the church.

The couple left the RCCG in the wake of widespread public criticism and sanction over the extravagant 60th birthday celebration of Pastor Siju Iluyomade, held just days after the tragic death of an influential member, Herbert Wigwe — along with his son, wife, and friend Bimbo Ogunbanjo — in a helicopter crash.
