Premier League excitement was at an all-time high as MTN Nigeria brought fans together in Abuja and Akwa Ibom for a spectacular double watch party on Sunday, May 5, 2025.

Held at Farm City, Wuse, Abuja and Pyramid Lounge, Uyo, the event delivered a vibrant blend of football, entertainment, and community connection as four live EPL matches lit up giant screens for fans.

The events screened four gripping EPL matches live, including Chelsea’s impressive 3–1 win over Liverpool, Brentford’s thrilling 4–3 victory against Manchester United, and two closely contested draws between Brighton and Newcastle (1–1), and West Ham and Tottenham (1–1). Each match delivered drama, stunning goals, and major implications for the race for European qualification.

Fans from both cities arrived in droves, donning their club colours and chanting familiar football anthems. As the goals poured in, so did the cheers, debates, and electric energy that only the Premier League can inspire.

Speaking about the events and the company’s engagement strategy, MTN Nigeria’s PR Manager, Lakinbofa Goodluck, expressed the brand’s excitement in connecting fans across regions: “These watch parties are a celebration of the game we all love. It’s also a reinforcement of MTN’s commitment to bringing people together through football, no matter where they are.”

Attendees also enjoyed live performances, interactive games, food and drinks, as well as exciting giveaways, including MTN-branded merchandise and broadband devices.

The event was part of MTN’s wider football engagement strategy, which includes its broadcast sponsorship of the English Premier League on DSTV in Nigeria and local football initiatives like the Nationwide League One and MTN CHAMPS.

From Uyo to Abuja, the message was clear: football lives here, and MTN is powering every moment.
