Gbolahan Lawal, the Lagos commissioner who became the Oniru- Elect barely twenty-four hours (24hrs) after he resigned from the executive cabinet of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is indeed a man of destiny.

The checks made by societynow.ng revealed that he narrowly missed becoming the Governor of Lagos State twice.

The information available to societynow.ng revealed that the first chance was during the turbulent first term tenure of Lefty (left-handed) as Babatunde Fashola, the man who succeeded Tinubu as Governor of Lagos State is known.

Insiders, however, claimed ‘’some spiritualists’’ blocked Lawal’s chances of becoming Governor.

‘’I heard it was put into prayer and some shamans claimed it doesn’t bode well, whatever that means. It was his name and that of the other person that were prayed on to decide who the heavens favored most but both were rejected and the result was Ambode and all the great things he did that denied him a second term in office’’ societynow.ng gathered.

But fortunately for Lawal and thanks to the maneuvers of his godfather  Tinubu, the former commissioner has secured a ‘’lifetime’’ position as ‘’the new Oniru, of Iruland – a high-value business area and domain of premium real estate.
