Hours To Election, Daniel Keeps Mum Over Talks Of Working With Amosun To Make Otegbeye Gov
a former two-term governor of Ogun state
The talks that Senator-Elect, Gbenga Daniel is working with former Governor Ibikunle Amosun against Governor Dapo Abiodun has refused to die down.
There are growing claims he has directed his support base to work for Biyi Otegbeye, the preferred candidate of Amosun in the keenly contested Ogun gubernatorial race.
And barely two days – less than 48 hours – to the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial election, OGD (Otunba Gbenga Daniel) as his fans and loyalists address him as neither confirmed nor denied the claims.
Daniel, a former two-term governor of Ogun state emerged as the Senator-Elect for Ogun East in the February 25, 2023, election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abiodun is seeking a second term in office as the gubernatorial candidate of the APC.
Amosun, a chieftain of the APC is sponsoring Biyi Otegbeye of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) as the next Governor.

Daniel is the only powerful politician in Ogun with statewide support that is not sponsoring any gubernatorial candidate for the Ogun 2023 election.
He emerged Senator-Elect after initial fierce opposition from Governor Abiodun – before and after he won the APC senatorial ticket. A “reconciliation” was made towards the February, 25 elections.
OGD reportedly “reach terms” with Amosun to help him produce the next governor of Ogun state in the course of the faceoff with Abiodun.
SocietyNow.Ng gathered the status of the “agreement” remained unknown after the “reconciliation” with Abiodun.

Amosun’s sympathizers claim it is that “agreement” that is being leveraged to spread talks of Daniel’s support for Otegbeye.
“That the former Governor has directed his supporters and loyalists to back Amosun’s candidate Otegbeye” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
Though some persons have disputed the claim, the former Governor who is known to always make a public stand on key political issues at the last minute has kept mum on talks he is working with Amosun to help Otegbeye less than 48 hours to the election.
